How to fade a new scar?

I have a scar on my leg and its fairly recent. It's red and healing and I'd leave it be to fade naturally, but I'm going to a water park for a week on December 1st and I'd rather have it faded by then.

It's not that bad except for the fact that its long and red. I've been massaging it since I got the cut so its not raised (or pitted or wide), it's just red like I said.

So what do you suggest for fading it? I've heard of Vitamine E, olive oil, Vaseline, stretch mark creams, etc. but which one should I actually use? Several of them? I don't have the money or the means to go to a store for things specifically made for this, so what would you suggest that I have at home?

    Hello!

For fading scars it's best to treat them fairly early so they will fade more, or diminish completely. You can fade scars is by using a lemon! Lemons are very cheap and you probably have one in your kitchen right now! They help to brighten and lighten the skin. It's also a good idea to exfoliate so you are removing dead skin cells and promoting new skin growth. You can make a cheap scrub by mixing sugar and olive oil together, and then using it in the shower! Keeping the area moist will help to keep the redness away, so try to moisturise when you can. Honey is another ingredient to help heal skin and reduce redness. You can buy this very cheap at supermarkets. Aloe vera is a multi use product, and can be used on scars too! It helps to hydrate, smooth, and even out the skin tone, however I've only ever found it on Holland and Barrett, and is not cheap.

Vitamin E is known to be very effective at treating scars as It helps promote new skin cell growth. You can get vitamin e oil quite cheap on Amazon, or they also make capsules which you can sometimes break in half to get the oil out, but also you get have them as a daily vitamin. Bio oil is also a product advertised to fade scars, however my experience is that it doesn't make a huge difference, and it's expensive. Cocoa butter also has scar fading properties, and there is a product made by Palmer's called the scar serum, which combines vitamin E and cocoa butter in one. This is pricey though when you can get cocoa butter on Amazon again for a good price.

You can find lots of other recipes on the internet, so just try a little bit of everything and find what works for you! Hope this helps! :)

To begin with, the best thing to help to resurface the skin, and encourage fresh new skin to appear is to exfoliate - these are usually used 2 - 3 times a week. You will notice immediately after the first use how soft your skin feels, and it won't be long before you see a noticeable improvement in your skin. (Another good thing about these scrubs is that they encourage the skin to remain youthful).

As for something natural to use on your skin that can help with the scars, we can begin with bio oil. Bio oil is really good for scars. However, a less commercial solution and in my opinion far superior alternative is cold pressed organic coconut oil. This is also far more cost effective. You could just use a little before bed (a little goes a long way).

Coconut oil also has loads of health benefits when you cook with it, and it will also help to improve your skin if you eat it.

One of the best natural remedy for treating scars is tomato juice. Take some tomato juice and apply it with q-tips on your scars.

Fading scars is never too easy. There are many methods including plastic surgery, laser therapy and stretch mark creams. All these methods help removing the scars by fading its color. this is also effective to repair the damaged skin cells. the first two methods are invasive and if you need to remove these scars on larger areas then it could cost you a fortune.

While the last method is non-invasive, easy to use, convenient and safe. You can simply apply the creams on affected regions. This is helpful to repair the damaged skin cells on surface and stimulate the collagen production. This also contains natural ingredients like anti-oxidants which helps to moisturize the skin.

I would recommend try using Jojoba oil, penetrates into the skin without clogging pores. It can be used on all skin types, contains vitamin E and antioxidants which are great for fighting aging signs and moisturizing the skin.

Jojoba oil also helps with scarring, with regular application scars and other skin conditions can be lessened and in many cases healed completely.

    Hope this helps!

Vitamin E gel caps. Break one open and rub it on a scar. They are great.
