Do you eat cinnamon rolls with your chili?
Or have you even heard about doing this/tried it?
Just trying to prove if it's a regional thing. I'm from Texas and living in Nebraska, all my friends think everyone does it. I want to see if people in other states have tried dipping cinnamon rolls in their chili.

It is a Midwest thing. Growing up in Nebraska, school lunches always served chili with a cinnamon roll on the side (not in the chili). But I've never found any other regions that serve it this way, and I'm never surprised by the weird looks I get when I suggest the combo.
The flavors actually complement each other quite well, like churros with Mexican food, sweet and sour Asian dishes, chocolate infused with chili peppers.
There are other odd chili customs. In Cincinnati chili is served over spaghetti, and in other regions over rice.

We used to get cinnamon rolls on our plate with chili in school..Other than that I would say no and I certainly would not dip the roll. YUCK. I have seen several chili recipes that call for a touch of cinnamon. My mom once made chili with cinnamon instead of chili powder (she was drunk...don't cook like that) and it actually turned out pretty good. Hope that helps. Bethany

Chili and cinnamon rolls are indeed a regional delicacy. It's very popular in the small towns in the Midwest and school cafeterias serve it regularly. Actually it's quite good. Cinnamon goes great with cumin - think of Cincinnati chili and Middle eastern dishes! The surprising thing is that it's popular in rural areas where people usually prefer bland food.
