What's with the "lag" on the Wii U??

Before I got my Wii U, I used to play my regular Wii system on a regular (non-HD) tube TV. On THAT TV, I always felt that the Wii Remotes, and how they functioned, was dead on.

When I got my Wii U, I originally still just played it on my regular TV (with no issues), but THEN... when I got a HDTV (LED 1080p with a 240 hz. refresh rate) I noticed that there was NOT ONLY a lag in how quickly the Wii Remote's pointer on screen moved around, but also what's with the lag in the sound that comes out of the gamepad itself??? (although, I think the sound comes out of the gamepad FIRST, and then the HDTV's speakers slightly thereafter).

Anyone else notice this and have any thoughts as to why this happens??

Update:

C'mon... that's the "BEST" anybody's got on this???

Where's "T-Stodden" when you need him...

Update 2:

I'm using the HDMI cable that came with the Wii U. I've also tried connecting with just regular AV cables, and also went out and bought an expensive component cable to try that as well. It was all the same...

I've also noticed the same kind of "lag" when at my brother's house using his family's regular Wii system hooked up to their HDTV.

It's not a HUGE lag by any means... actually, it's quite short... but, because I was used to having absolutely NO LAG when playing on a regular tube tv, I noticed it right away when I changed to a HDTV.

I think it's something that MOST people probably wouldn't even notice... but I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it. Certainly, though, people must have noticed the SOUND lag (the difference in time between the sound coming out of the gamepad vs. the time when the sound comes out of the tv)???

How are you connecting the Wii U to the TV? Through the HDMI? or one of the legacy analog connections? If HDMI, are you using the one that came with the Wii U?

Does your TV have other problems with other HDMI devices?
