Who likes the new Answers format?

It came as a bit of a surprise, not sure I like it so much, no spell check for a start, and the colour is a bit bright, why do Yahoo! have to change things?

what happened to "If it 'ain't broke, don't fix it!)

What are your views?

I think Yahoo geeks keep geekifying to justify their job. The new Y!A stinks as does the new Yahoo mail so I'm afraid GB old pal that you won't be seeing much of me from now.

Definition of a Yahoo geek: "A Yahoo IT employee who takes something that is working perfectly OK and then screws it up.

LOL, it sounds like UK is finding out what USA has been *itching about for the last six months.

There are some good things, and some terrible things about it. The latter list is too long, so I'll just mention the good things.

1 - Much of the additional details shows in the question, without needing to open it, So trolling is easier to recognize.

2 - Pictures and video show up in the question (youtube, flicker, etc), when a link is attached, rather than needing to click on a link and be surprised by the content.

That's about it for the good things :-)

Edit: Good luck to those who say they'll get used to it. I've been using it for six months and still can't find things. It's very difficult to navigate. They are mostly doing the change to enhance graphics of advertising.

For those using Canada Y/A, their next, so enjoy it while you can.

I don`t like it one bit.

its so confusing and I have to keep re-setting some of my preferences every time I view a question.

I suppose with time I will get used to it but at the moment i`m not answering many questions on my favourite section as i`m busy trying to work out how to navigate around this new format.

I see Canada is still using the old format.

    I wonder how long for!

Just encountered it this morning and I hate it!!! No way to "star" a question, no spell check and no need to change something that was working perfectly (most of the time). Agree about the brightness as well, gives me a headache...Also if you click around to try some navigation, you can't use the back arrow and then have to type your answer all out again....useless....!!!!

Another thing, you can also answer a question that has already had a BA picked, and you don't get any points, so it's a totally useless function...!!

    I find it unusable.

I particularly dislike not being able to navigate to past answers or questions that may be relevant to the one I am answering or asking right now. I also prefer to have as much information as possible on one page, to avoid scrolling at all. I find empty space and irrelevant information using up space on a limited screen intensely annoying.

I have migrated to Y!A Canada, but miss not being able to search for UK-specific items, particularly in the Politics section. There is just a limit I can wade through endless discussions between cons and libs, where American politics, values and assumptions are so very different to those from my country.

I don't know the real reason they changed it. The BBC did it to their home page a couple of years ago, and we see it with Windows 8. It is a trend, and today's crop of website designers follow trends, rather than commonsense or the wishes of their users.

99% of users do not like the new Answers format. But don't bother complaining. They have no intentions of reverting back to the old format.

i know Yahoo recently updated its servers so perhaps they have had to update other features to comply with the new technology. Yahoo is also trying to be more compatible and user friendly to the growing numbers of users that access their email and Internet on mobile devices such as mobile phones, iPads, Kindle and Tablets. *shrugs* Those are the only reasons i can think of.

To be honest I have only just logged on and noticed that it has changed today and first impression is that I am not impressed with it. I cannot seem to navigate around the site the same as the old layout, no doubt I will get used to it. When I got fed up of not getting/seeing what I wanted to see on this site I popped over to the Canadian site as they still have the old layout - cheating I know, but hey, it is quicker.

I am hoping this is just a temporary format while they sort out the site, but I haven't seen any bulletins about it. As it is at the moment it is almost unusable.

I don't like it one bit. I've just struggled to put a question up in Computing, and had an email from ANOTHER contact saying their account is suspended - no real reason given - just contravention of rules. Too Kafak-esque in my book I'm afraid.
