Google says Internet Explorer is in compatibility mode?

I tried their instructions to turn it off but everything I saw said it wasn't on. I've never even heard of it until now. Google has been acting weird for over a week now too. All my other sites work fine, is it just google being weird?

    Compatibility Mode is turned on and off via an icon in the address/URL bar of Internet Explorer. It's normally on the far right side of the bar and will change colors or look when it's enabled/disabled.
