Why does my mouse not open links with double click?

Sometimes I have to right click and click on Open. Aggravating...

Links are opened by a single click, not a double. Double clicks are for Windows Explorer type interfaces in which you open folders and files with a double click.

You could have the double click setting set to too fast a speed. Refer to irken24's answer for this solution.

Check your mouse settings in the Control Panel (assuming you use Windows). There should be a slider bar that says "Double-Click Speed." Adjust the speed to your liking and test it on the folder icon to the side. If you are still having the problem even on the slowest setting, it may be time for a new mouse.
