There is a learning curve but I do like it more than 6. You will eventually have to update it as apps and such drop support of the older versions. A LOT of people hate it but that is a vocal minority who just didn't like change of any sort.
If you do update it would be better to do so with a computer through itunes. Less likely something will go wrong.

Pretty well, if there's enough space on your phone, that is... Looks nicer than the iOS 6 too. Overall I say get it if you can, although the download takes some time!
