I'm assuming you want DVD authoring software, a program that will burn video clips to a DVD that will play in a video player.

    Here's a Thanksgiving give-away that looks interesting.

    http://www.firecoresoft.com/dvd-maker.html

I haven't tried it out yet (it's Thanksgiving!:-) but it handles all the common video file types and also burns an iso image (which is a good thing). Sorry, but there's no video program on earth that supports ALL possible video formats. Unfortunately, Splendvd also has an option to burn data discs. A lot of DVD authoring programs can also burn data discs. If you insist on a program that can accept all possible video file types and that can't burn data discs at all, you're going to narrow the possibilities down a lot - and there aren't that many to begin with.

Iso files.... When you burn a playable DVD, you're usually given the option of also making an iso file. This is an excellent option. Depending on the size of the files in your project and on your computer's resources (amount of RAM, speed of you hard drive, etc.), it can take a while (sometimes an hour or more) to burn a playable DVD because the video clips need to be recoded (converted), the menu set up with the clips and coded, etc. If you want to make more copies of the DVD to give to friends and/or family members, it would take you hours and hours to burn individual DVDs for everyone. Instead, after all the recoding and coding rigamarole, the program can make a copy of the DVD it's about to burn for you and save it to your computer. You can then use this saved file, the iso file, to quickly burn more copies of the same DVD. Iso files are wonderful things that can save you a lot of time.

Besides this give-away, there's DVDFlick and DVDStyler. DVDFlick is definitely the easier one to use.

Hello friend, there are several good software for burning dvd's on windows 8. which are absolutely free to download. they are listed below.

    1. ImgBurn

ImgBurn is a lightweight burning tool with plenty of useful features. It can write data to disc, or create audio CDs from all the main music formats.

There's support for creating, reading or writing a host of formats (BIN, CCD, CDI, CUE, DI, DVD, GI, IMG, ISO, MDS, NRG and PDI).

    2. Ashampoo Burning Studio Free

Ashampoo Burning Studio has a good range of options for a free tool. You can burn data discs, audio CDs and DVD video discs (from folders), for instance, as well as creating and burning disc images. There's also a built-in CD ripper, and even a simple backup tool which can span a backup over several discs.

    3. DVDFlick

Most general disc burning tools can only create video DVDs from a prepared folder. Install an authoring tool like DVDFlick, though, and your life will be much easier.

    4. StarBurn

A little more basic than some of the competition, StarBurn is essentially a collection of small tools which you access from a simple icon-based launcher.

There's still plenty to explore here, though. Straightforward wizards help you to burn data, audio CDs and video DVDs (from folders), the program can help you create images from discs, or your choice of files, and there's even a little room for extras, including a CD ripper and simple audio file conversion tool.

The burning software I like the most is Ashampoo Burning. It's 100% free and can be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/1sW26zI

A burning software is a tool that you need to create new CDs and DVDs. To make them working properly you need to burn them with a good software. Ashampoo is a very modern and reliable software that I recommend. It has plenty of other functions (e.g. you can edit videos and create DVD menus)
