It wasn't a valid argument when it was first used in 300 BC, or any of the hundreds of times it has been used since then.

That wasn't the reason for going over there, just more "evidence" we should. Unfortunately, the argument is wrong. The problem is the "civilized" world is fighting against the "uncivilized" world. At least in the West, that's what it is. To them, it is those humans who seek to establish a system of "human worship" (us invoking our own morals and telling others to do the same) over them.

do you want someone to walk into your house and destroy your entire family? What sane person would want war in their own country over a war in their enemies country.

Anyone who genuinely believes this has not thought it through. We don't live in a world where our enemies live in a single centralized hub.
