What tricks can I teach my dog?

I know it's a language thing, maybe, but basically I don't expect any of mine to 'do tricks'!! Basic obedience, starting with housetraining, responding to their name, come, yes, but stand on hind legs, play dead, no. It may be something to do with my life-time with the Basset but I like mine to be honest to goodness dogs, not circus animals doing tricks.

some of the very smart breeds benefit from the mental stimulation of learning tricks, and some dogs get extremely bored from too much training. Evidently your dog likes learning, so go for it.

I have a dog and she was 5 years old this year...

when she was a little puppy I taught her where to pee and poop...that's the first thing I taught her because it's hard to clean her mess in the house or you can hire a trainer for other extra tricks for your dog.
