how to rename a file on the sims 3?
My sims 3 laucher and sims 3 game are not opening :(((
I have looked into it and have tried copying the "TS3.ex_" to rename it and put it back but it does not let me! How do you rename the file while it is in the drive? I have tried copying the file that I renamed (.exe) and just pasting it over that file on the disc but that doesnt work either. Please help!

Have you tried opening the task manager? Open it by typing Ctrl Alt Del and choosing it from the options. Look under the Processes tab for sims3launcher. If it's there, click on the checkbox and choose End Process. Alternatively, you might try restarting the computer.
I'm also kind of worried about what renaming/copying the .exe file is going to do to your ability to get the game to start. If you've already done it, it seems like you might need to completely reinstall the game.
