How to dye a pashmina scarf?
I went black friday shopping and bought one of the last pashmina scarves on sale. Its a really pretty hot pink color but i prefer red. Is there any way I could dye this at home or give it a pretty red wash?
Its 50% rayon and 50% acrylic.

There is a thread about dying cashmere from some dyers below. Pashima is a form of cashmere, so I thought it might help.
They say to avoid hot water and agitation, that will "felt" the wool. But there are cold water dyes.

Rayon and acrylic are both synthetics, and it is very difficult to dye them. Rayon is possible to dye, with a fibre-reactive dye (not one made for wool), but acrylic would be impossible to dye. Acrylic (made of plastic) needs to be coloured at the time of manufacture, not after.
You may dye your pashmina (although that term is a misnomer since it is not made of cashmere, nor did it come from Kashmir) but the acrylic will still be the bright pink it is now. You can sort of make it red, but not quite as you expect. Dyeing rayon requires quite high temperatures, and the acrylic may not be able to withstand it. It's always best to buy the exact colour you want -- never assume you are going to be able to dye anything.

Acrylic is a synthetic and rayon is considered semi-synthetic. I'm not saying it's impossible to dye a synthetic fabric, but it would be very difficult to get the dye to take and you would risk the "hand" and finish of the fabric by trying. Sorry.
Best of luck.
