Why do i feel this way about basketball?

Truth is not good at basketball. Im decent. Its weird to explain. I can dominate, i have a good jumpshot and i can finish at the basket dont get me wrong, but i just "feel" like i can be so much better. I feel like i can be great. I think and imagine myself dropping 20 points everyday several times. I always feel that even when i look at people who arr better than me now, i have a higher ceiling. Sometimes i feell ike i have no right to be so areogant since im not on that level. I truly love the game and only get a little nervous playing against others who i know get more attention than me. Why am i like this

I used to be horrible, I never touched a basketball ever in 8th grade.

I started developing a passion in the beginning of 9th grade and now in 10th, im starting small forward of my JV team. One thing you have to do and one thing i had trouble with is gaining confidence. It may seem bad, but don't be afraid to take shots even though you airball it. Every time im open, i shoot, and thats what coaches like to see. I recommend you going to the park and playing basketball alone sometimes, listen to music, shoot around, just have fun. Also try playing 1 on 1 or small pickup games with strangers, because it helps you develop a stronger basketball IQ and who knows maybe you can be better than all the players you play against. Just know that there are going to be people who are better than you and people who arent :P .

If you want, some drills that are the best are the following:

    - Try shooting close range shots with one hand, this helps you develop a better jump shot form that is more precise. It also makes it easier to perform moves in the paint, such as fade aways.

    - Also develop a good balance between your right and left hand. Many street ballers aren't good because they can only finish with their dominant hand. So every time i go to the park i dedicate 10 minutes of my time to just do nothing but left handed lay ups.

    - Also when im at home i do that drill when you tap the ball with your fingers back and forth while watching TV.

    - This may sound stupid but watch NBA games from time to time, and look at the players who dont have the ball, look at how they move and how they contribute offensively without the ball. This helps you gain a higher basketball IQ and will help you in league games rather than pickup games or street basketball.

I hope this was useful, please ask any other questions if you have any or any problems.
