what vacuum to get for a 1-bedroom apartment?

The apartment is 704 sq feet. I dont' want a vacuum with a bag and I dont' need anything fancy or super expensive. The place will just have 2, 22+ year olds living in the apartment.

It's known that vaccums w/bags are better at cleaning, last longer, need repairs less often and are less expensive. The bagless models do not empty as easy as they claim to. they tend to clog easy, they tend to spend time in the repair shop. Dyson is over-rated, don't waste your money. Shark is a good one. I have used an Oreck w/bags, for years and it out-works anything on the market. You really can't get a good vaccum at walmart, those brands are constant constant trouble-shooting and poor suction and even poorer still on pet-hair.
