How to tell my band I want to focus on my own music without hurting our friendship so early?

Me and my band got started a few weeks ago, and I don't really like the idea of a band as much now. But first and foremost, I don't want to hurt our friendship. Help?

Well, first before I answer I just want to say its cool to have a band and I've always wanted to be in one. i don't know how to play an instrument although i have like 3 electric bass, and I'm a dancer, but thats besides the point.

it's hard to do something without somewhat hurting someones feelings, but you can only do it the nicest way possible. don't just blatantly blurt out you don't want to be in the band but just sit down and have a talk with them and just tell them that you like the bad you had fun with it but its not for you. if thy are real friends then they will understand that somethings are just not for some people and being in a band just isn't for you. go ahead and write your music and express yourself. i know how tough it can be working in a group, especially when you're being overlooked constantly. I'm sure they will understand.
