What happens when you Factory unlock a iPhone 5?

So like you unlock it with a web but the ones that you dont have to pay?? I just bought a iPhone and it's carrier is Verizon Any Help :(((( 5 STARS FOR THE BEST ANSWER!!

    You commit a 5 year felony. Factory unlocked means it was never locked to a carrier in the first place when it was first made. Oh, and it is impossible to jailbreak to unlock if it has IOS 7. And since you just bought it Verizon will not unlock it.

    Factory unlocked isn't tolerable to practically every network because it's illegal
