How long can Rigondeaux fight the way he does?

I always say fighters with great technique and fundamentals (Floyd, B Hop, Vitali) age better than fighters who rely on their athleticism (PAC, RJJ). Rigo is one of the few fighters who rely on both.

Rigo does have the best balance and feet coordination Ive seen. However his major weakness is he tends to rely on his reflexes which is one of the talents that diminish faster than others along with speed.

Thats why he paws alot with his right hand, to bate his opponents to commit on a counter, then time them perfectly with his own counter. But u must have A++ reflexes to pull it, thats a big part of Rigo's game and thats the only reason he was tagged by left hooks over his pawing right, cause his reflexes failed him. Either that'll be his downfall or he must get rid of that young man's technique

What u think?

If you had to give me a sooner or later, I'd pick sooner for sure.

I think Rigo's technique is so high level that he can be good for awhile. That being said, and if you know baseball you'll understand what I'm saying, I have a hard time believing Rigo is 33.

He's from Cuba, he defected, he looks like he's 37. I don't know if he has legit paperwork to prove his age. You see guys lie about their age all the time in baseball whne they're from Cuba, Dominican Republic, South America, etc..

Maybe Rigo just has an older looking face, but I'm skeptical about his age for sure...

I slightly agree with you though. Rigo has great movement/ability/technique, but he does paw a lot and look to land a big left hand counter, which he's good at.

He's good at that solely b/c he's smart and has great reaction time, which is exactly what we're talking about. If he loses that reflex, how good can he be against elite guys?

I don't think he relies on his reflexes too much, not nearly as much as an RJJ did, but he still does. He's a more technical fighter than anything else IMO, and that technique is rare amongst active guys.

His chin doesn't seem to be the greatest either, but in reality I think his combination of superb technique/athletiscm is close to a Floyd, though definitely not as good. Few guys have that combination of talent though.

I don't know how long he can keep doing it, so it's hard for me to really say. I do believe he should be fine in the near future, but I don't think he can keep it going when he's close to 40 (on paper) like Floyd and B-Hop have/did.

Great job on your story I do agree with you on Rigs feet and reflexes . I don't see any reason Rig needs to change anything. Stick and Move made a great point about Rigs age. With that being said I don't care if he's 100 he just beat the breaks off of everyone's so called best Donaire. Until he falls off or someone beats him I am betting the farm on this man.

man, youre too deep on details, the way i see it on his last fight, he doesnt need anything, his speed &power are way too much for donaire, he toyed the poor champ even though he can ko the guy early to end the humiliation... so now he fights who, agbeko?.... if im an elite and i love my career very much, i wont fight rigon, imagine, donaire cant even rock that questionable chin, while heredia was seen around rigons camp??? aw men!
