This is my new ultimate dream fight. 4 gold medals between them, I think Rigo's pro game is way too polished for Loma. Rigo counters way better than Loma and can fight on the back foot much better.

Loma's advantage is he's 2 fasted where Rigo's right is only for measuring distance. He is younger and has more volume but still, he likes to block too much with his gloves and thats not the best defense strategy at the elite level. Rigo has elite level defense, balance and counterpunching.

Loma has excellent combos, lateral movement but not enough to beat Rigo

He was voted BWAA trainer of the year. His 2 biggest wins, Pac against the punching bag Rios and Cotto fighting a tune-up against Rodriguez.

Robert Garcia, Virgil Hunter, Ronnie Shields are had better year than Roach. Hell Freddie doesnt have a single champ. And no he doesnt get credit for Provodnikov win cause he wasnt in his corner thats not how trainers work. He probably beat Alvarado because Roach wasnt in his corner.

Considering how titles are so easy to get in today's boxing, how come the trainer of the year doesnt have a single title holder?

He had solid wins and he shown improvements in his last fight and it seems that he has less and less flaws each fight but I still dont think hes reached that elite level.

Yea he knows how to parry punches and avoid shots without wasting energy, but I still dont think he has the tools to be elite cause his defense is not great, which is okay since hes not a defensive fighter (but he is defensive minded, 2 different thing guys) and his offense is one dimensional.

Right now hes fighting the type of fighters that made Broner and Donaire look invincible. Unlike those 2 Garcia jabs and feints regularly so he isnt as reliant as those 2 for his opponents to give him openings and make mistakes so he could counter but still, hes tools are limited to be considered elite.

What u think? can he be one of the best P4P in the near future?

That's Quillin's best option since he can't do business with HBO.

I always thought Stevens was more than just a one-dimensional power puncher way before he fought GGG. I think he can beat Quillin

For whatever reason, Holmes who went 48-0 in his run, beat all mandatory and was the most complete and rounded HW champ in history,doesnt get a fraction of the credit he deserves.

This guy did it all, he had excellent boxing ability from distance with the best jab and great footwork, and once the distance is closed unlike Ali, Lewis and Wlad who were all great jabbers but couldnt fight inside, Holmes had no problem out-hustle or out-brawl his opponent on the inside.

The only other HWs who did that, Bowe and Liston but didnt have the conditioning or footwork of Holmes

he fought: RJJ early then fought Joe Lipsey, John David Jackson , Simon Brown, Glen Johnson, Jean Pascal, Trinidad, Taylor, Joppy, Taylor, Eastman, Tarver, Winky Wright, Dawson, Calzaghe, Pavlik and Pascal.

Whitaker fought: Chavez Sr, Haugen, Jose Luis Ramirez, Azumah Nelson, Jorge Paez, Pineda, Buddy McGirt, Hurtado, ODLH, Trinidad

Just because some of the names arent well known as Cotto or Mosley, it doesnt mean that at the time they fought them they werent tougher. Genaro Hernandez isnt as well known but he was one of the best victories considering the time Floyd fought him

U will notice both B Hop and Whitaker fought many mobile fighters where Floyd fought very few of them and didnt fight the best mobile fighters around like PAC or Casamayor.

So PAC and Roach would rather go against their friend Ruslan rather than give a rematch to Bradley whom many though PAC won and who just had a great year (beating Ruslan and Marquez) so u know it would be much bigger.

To me thats a blatant duck. I dont see it happening but I hope Ruslan KOs PAC into irrelevance so we dont have to put up with these cherrypicked fights and finally stop talking about the fight that will NEVER EVER HAPPEN vs Floyd.

Both are great at fighting on the inside and at long range and both are equally fast and both know how to throw every punch in the book with perfect technique and both had great chins

-B Hop was more disciplined and could adjust to any style in front of him and had better footwork (in fact the most underrated footwork in boxing)

-James Toney had more power and looked more spectacular or flashier in his biggest fights

there diffrent, im leaning toward Kovalev cause hes faster and punches are shorter and doesnt load on any of them. Kinda like Paulie Malignaggi with power, can throw a lot of punches without giving up distance and leaving himself exposed for counters.

Damn that was satisfying, seeing Maidana make Broner his ***** after all that bark from Broner. He also had some of the most annoying fans who had him in their top P4P list, Broner got whopped bad against a 6-1 dog so lets not hear too much excuses from fanboys.

Other satisfying loses this year where Donaire, Devon Alexander and Alvarado. Whats ur most satisfying fights recently?

Can u name me some fighters with original styles that are uncommon? Rigondeaux for one has techniques and moves that very few in boxing history had.

Even though Ali was an original during his time, there are many who copied his style, same with Mayweather so im looking for fighters with unique style or skills. Someone like Riddick Bowe whos a tall in-fighter or Odlanier Solins whos a front foot counterpuncher or even someone like Kovalev whos a volume power puncher (thats much rarer than u think)

Both are volume power punchers which he dont see much of that combination. Both have great fundamentals from their amateur careers that helped their balance and setting up offense. Heres some diffrneces I noticed:

GGG is one of the best Ive seen in coming forward while being in balance to punch (unlike say Canelo or Broner who come forward, set their feet then punch) disguising his offense making him harder to telegraph. He also has one of the better jabs, plus GGG is the very best at probing to set up offense which is an unconventional but very effective skill. And Golovkin has more punch verity, he throws every punch in the book correctly

Kovalev is more active but might be harder to counter or time cause he doesnt commit much to his punches making him more fluid offensively. He hides his chin better and is faster, because he doesnt commit in every punch allows him to be more effective in close range where GGG needs his space to punch so Kovalev is harder to smother (which Kassim Ouma did to GGG)

What more similarities or differences between the two

I always say fighters with great technique and fundamentals (Floyd, B Hop, Vitali) age better than fighters who rely on their athleticism (PAC, RJJ). Rigo is one of the few fighters who rely on both.

Rigo does have the best balance and feet coordination Ive seen. However his major weakness is he tends to rely on his reflexes which is one of the talents that diminish faster than others along with speed.

Thats why he paws alot with his right hand, to bate his opponents to commit on a counter, then time them perfectly with his own counter. But u must have A++ reflexes to pull it, thats a big part of Rigo's game and thats the only reason he was tagged by left hooks over his pawing right, cause his reflexes failed him. Either that'll be his downfall or he must get rid of that young man's technique

Much like Amir Khan, he has the tools to be something real special but didnt develop the skills to go with his talent.

Donaire depends on his opponents to make mistakes so he could take advantage, because of that dependency, if his opponents dont give him any openings he cant do anything.

His idol is Roy Jones, what did Roy do in this situation? he feints and studies his opponents reaction then he ambushes with combos and gets out (only athletic fighters with foot speed can do that like Jean Pascal and David Haye) plus Roy was a good combination puncher which helped him set up his punches unlike Donaire who always looks for one shot.

There are other more traditional ways to deal with that problem, Roman Gonzalez and Golovkin are experts on that, but I specifically compared him to Roy cause Nonito isnt a pressure fighter. My point is Donaire needs use his athleticism against passive fighters like Pascal did against Dawson or Roy did against Telesco

BQ) Do u think Donaire can be a world champ again?

Thats the best fight, no clear winner but Im leaning towards an upset cause Vanes struggled against the 2 other southpaws he faced, Lara and Kassim Ouma.

It would probably go the distance and not be as action packed as the others that night but it looks like the most competitive. Andrade by UD

I just noticed that Floyd fans hate when someone else is getting all the spotlight and immediately want them to move where their out-sized so they have a bigger chance of losing.

Clearly GGG has a MW frame, he is smaller than Quilling and Barker but bigger than Sergio. If Sergio loses his linear title to any of those 3, then I want that champ to stay at MW and defend that title cause their is so few real champs in boxing.

BTW why doesnt Froch or Ward move down to fight him like Ward made Dawson do. GGG just proved that hes a bigger draw then both in the US with the HBO ratings, maybe Froch has the biggest drawing power but thats in the UK. I think the MW division is one of the hottest divisions and because their is a linear champ makes it all that more intresting.

Well he did KO a solid MW fighter in Stevens, for u boxrec scholars, Stevens didnt seem much but if u know about boxing u know that Stevens was one of the biggest threat at MW which is his natural weight class.

I love the fact that GGG sets up his power from his jabs and one of the best at setting up body shots by probing, very few do that. He ate some shots but thats natural for aggressive fighters to be at more risk during a fight. I think skillwise GGG is one of the very best today because of his fundementals and amateur background. Dont look at just his power, his skills are deceiving as hes one of the best EVER at cutting off the ring and closing the distance to force his fight.
