Rigondeaux and other originals?
Can u name me some fighters with original styles that are uncommon? Rigondeaux for one has techniques and moves that very few in boxing history had.
Even though Ali was an original during his time, there are many who copied his style, same with Mayweather so im looking for fighters with unique style or skills. Someone like Riddick Bowe whos a tall in-fighter or Odlanier Solins whos a front foot counterpuncher or even someone like Kovalev whos a volume power puncher (thats much rarer than u think)
Or whatever Aaron Pryor was
@teodor, yes Sergio is an original and if u notice he tends to only throw 1 and 2 (jab and cross) his hooks and uppercuts have no leverage yet he makes his style effective with speed and mobility. PAC is also an original. I dont think Marquez is, he fights similar style to Arguello, McCullum or Trinidad
@Ray, I meant that for a tall guy like Bowe, hes an excellent inside fighter which is rare. As for Rigo hes a short counterpuncher who doesnt try to close the distance, his tactics (not general style) are of the rarest in boxing today
@Flashknockdown good point about Ali. Joe Frazier without a doubt is an original. As for RJJ I say Terry Norris fought closest to him but yeah he is very unique. I think more recently Anselmo Moreno and Ivan Calderon fight kinda like Pernell Whitaker

Everyone is original in their own ways but none of the guys you mentioned invented their specific style except for Ali, who was the first champion to use the rope-a-dope. Aside from that; everything had been used.
Mayweather and Rigo use the philly shell which has been used for centuries even in bare knuckle boxing. Shoulderroll is also an old technique, watch Charley Burley fight.
Bowe uses a very conventional style. turtle shell defence, cross arm defence, conventional defense are all old as rock. The most recent style is the ''peek-a-boo'', i believe Floyd Patterson & Tyson used it best but Cus invented it and the first champion to use it was Bobo Olson [in the later part of his career]. ''peek-a-boo'' is basically turtle shell defense with a guard a bit low for better vision, and allot of upper body movement.

Sergio Martinez with both arms held low and head bobbing to entice the opponent to lead or attack which he will easily foil with head, feet or body movements after which he will launch his own effective counters.
I think Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez are also originals with their style of fighting.

Sam "King" Soliman
He had a style all his own, and was very unorthodox, but I won't sugarcoat what I really think about him.
He fought like a ****!ng retard.
He does get points for originality though. That is for damn sure.
