I'm a trail/all mountain bike rider but want to get into a bit of gravity/downhill. How should I do this?
Do I need a whole new bike? Should I just head for the downhill trails and see how it goes or should I hone my skills in skills parks? Currently have a lapierre zesty 514.

How insane do you want to get on your downhill quest?
This review gives the bike high marks, but has reservations about the shocks. So if you can get those dialed in, it should help out a lot.

If the bike has some light weight rims, you may want to get a new beefier set so you don't trash them. A dropper post would also be a good idea.

The Zesty is a great bike, but it isn't a downhill machine. For true downhill riding is isn't robust enough and needs another 3" of suspension travel. If you do any intense downhilling you will break something and it may not be the bike
