1996 GMC Sonoma with posi?

Just aquired a low-mileage one, 4 cyl, auto, and I'm pretty sure it has posi. Both wheels spin, not just one. Was that even an option on the base model with that motor/tranny?

Update:

I thought chrysler was sure-grip, and GM was positraction. Pretty sure it's been that way for years.

Update 2:

Just looked it up, and I was correct. GM is positraction. Crysler is sure-grip. Limited slip is the generic term for an axle with clutches to temporarily lock both drive wheels. Looks like you don't know it all.

first off its called limited slip. posi trac is a term used by Chrysler. and second yes that was an option usually only found in the 6 cylinder models tho, unless the original customer special ordered it like that from the factory. you can look up the tag number for the rear axle that is usually located in the door jam or in the glove box for gm products. to make sure its stock. if not it could be an aftermarket lock rite or similar.
