There is only ONE German Shepherd and that is the German Shepherd Dog. There are only Three bloodlines as well:
American Show Line
German Show Line
Working Line
Belgian's and Shiloh Shepherds and others that many have named are a COMPLETELY different breed. They may have shepherd in their name or look like one, but they are not.

True German Shepherd is a well defined breed. Varieties with unique coloration and longer hair are typically outcrosses with other dog breeds. Having said that, unless you are looking for a show dog, many of these varieties share most of the GSD traits and will make wonderful pets, just like the "true" GSDs. Some breeders specialize in White German Shepherds, for example, which are beautiful, intelligent dogs:

There are different bloodlines, but overall there is 1 main "type" of GSD.
Mainly, they are broken down to working lines, show lines, and backyard bred types... AKA the "American" German Shepherd, although it is still a GSD, just weak.

The AKC recognized breed is known as the 'German Shepherd Dog.' There are other breeds with the word 'Shepherd' in the name but they are separate and distinct from the breed you are asking about.

On paper only one. But as said earlier there are people who breed for showing and then there's everyone else! The other type being refered to as working line, which do have obvious visual differences to the showline, but most likely haven't worked for generations.
People will also state that different country's are different; UK, German, and USA in particular but this is not the case because dogs gets transported all the time either as litters or stud dogs.
