Colored or White lights on the Christmas tree?

It seems that more and more of my family and friends are going to white only Christmas lights on their Christmas trees. In-fact, this year I may be the only one who has multicolored lights. I think white lights look elegant, but are boring! I'm going to have kids over, the colors are what they want to see. What do you guys think? Also, not to offend, but the people I personally know, with white lights, are snobby and judgmental that I have colored lights. Just sayin'!

I just like consistency... if you go for colored either use all colored (no white) or have some sort of pattern. White is the easiest as it takes no color coordination

I loved colored lights when I was a kid, but as I got older I started liking the solid colors (all white, blue, green, red, etc). I think I'd prefer white lights on the tree, because then you can decorate with ornaments in whatever color or theme you want, and the lights go with it. If you wanted purple and gold ornaments, white lights make it look good. If you go with blue, silver, and aqua, white lights still make it look nice. Red and white ornaments with white lights? Still good. It's basically a neutral accent for the tree.

I would use colored lights on a Christmas tree. I think the white lights at best look dull and at worst look cold. Colored lights look bright and cheerful.

The kind of lights I recommend are the big colored traditional lights, technical name is C7. It's amazing how much they light up your tree.

I love coloured lights, not just on the tree but in general. However, my wife prefers the 'classic' look of white lights. So, we do white at home, and I put coloured lights throughout the office :)

Definitely multicolored, seems much more festive. So what if your friends are going all white lights, that's their choice. Don't let your friends dictate what you as an INDIVIDUAL do. Think for yourself and listen to your heart.
