Would the word 'auch' work in this context? (German)?

Alex: Entschuldigen Sie, sprechen Sie spanisch? Ich bin nicht fließen in deutsch.

Supermarket employee: Nein, aber ich spreche Englisch.

Alex: Auch! Where can I find the...

In this situation, could auch also mean 'me too', or can auch only be used for 'also'? Btw, this isn't a homework assignment like I often see being posted here. Thanks in advance.

    Not "auch" alone --> Ich auch!

    That's like, "me, too". Yes, like "also".

    German sounds nicer, but Russian grows on you when you recognize how hard it is to pronounce.
