Writers: How can I describe the feeling of pleasure when causing pain in a story?

I'm writing a story in first person, and can't figure out how to describe the feeling my character gets when getting a tattoo. I want my readers to get that creepy vibe from him, by saying he felt pleasure when the needle went through his skin, but how could I describe that in first person? Thank in Advance. :)

He has a look of sweet ecstasy on his face, creeping the people out around him who know he should be in extreme pain.

If it's in first person, then just describe what he's feeling. He wouldn't be thinking about what other people would think about what he's feeling, he'd just be feeling it. Think of something that you find pleasurable, and remember how that makes you feel. Then apply the same feelings to your character's situation. =)

It's a God like complex. Fantasy. I have written several books. We, as writers, use words to pull people to our fantasies. With the right words we give them that ecstasy that they want, much like a rock star does. We are, basically, pulling their emotions in the direction that we want them to go.
