Best answer: Easy calculation?
Calculate the grade.
Essays= 60%
Participation=10%
Quizzes= 10%
Research Paper=10%
Final=10%
Equals=100%
So if one got a 47%, 6%, 7%, 7%, 8% what would the final grade be?

You messed up on the facts dude.
Unless you actually got 7% on your quizzes and Research Paper which i doubt happened.
You can't get 7% / 10%. . . . Unless you want me to convert those all to 100%'s, then you have 58%
@ The guy below me.
You're not suppose to add up the scores and divide by 5, even if you did, the number wouldn't be 77%.
He gave the % of what those topics were worth and you're suppose to get the fraction and multiply it by .60, .10, and so on...
To get the final percent, you take the mark you got ex) 30/40 = 75% * 0.60 (What the essay exam weighs) = 45. You do that with all your other marks and add up the totals.
So for your participation, which is weighed at 10%, you take the mark you got, x/x and multiply it by 0.10. Then, you take the number you get and add it up with the other 5.
I do not get what you mean by 6%, 7%, 8% though so i cannot get the mark.
