Orthodox Christians and Orthodox Jews often will cover their hair. Not necessarily wear a hijab, but something that covers their hair.

Sure. Many nuns wear something very similar, and non-Muslims in some countries do as well - especially in the Middle East, Malaysia, and Indonesia. l

The hijaab is as much a cultural item in certain countries as it is a religious one. In fact, the Koran does not say that woman must wear one at all.

"Hijab" or "ḥijāb" (/hɪˈdʒɑːb/, /hɪˈdʒæb/, /ˈhɪ.dʒæb/ or /hɛˈdʒɑːb/;[1][2][3][4] Arabic: حجاب‎, pronounced [ħiˈdʒæːb] ~ [ħiˈɡæːb]) is a veil that covers the head and chest, which is particularly worn by a Muslim or a Sikh female beyond the age of puberty in the presence of adult males. It can further refer to any head, face, or body covering worn by Muslim women that conforms to a certain standard of modesty. It not only refers to the physical body covering, but also embodies a metaphysical dimension, where al-hijab refers to "the veil which separates man or the world from God.”[5] Hijab can also be used to refer to the seclusion of women from men in the public sphere. Most often, it is worn by Muslim women as a symbol of modesty, privacy and morality.

According to the Encyclopedia of Islam and Muslim World, modesty in the Qur'an concerns both men's and women's gaze, gait, garments, and genitalia."[6]

There are some crazy Jews who force their women to cover their hair, but it looks more like a turban than a hijab.

Oh, and there are Catholic nuns, of course. Whether or not they're Christians is up for debate.

Well, I understand that the first women to wear the veil were Byzantine Christian women.

    Curiouser and curiouser.

Catholic nuns do wear what they call a "habit". It is ugly, and covers them from head to toe. Is that the kind of thing you mean?
