Considering that markets will be even higher in 30 years, you do not want to miss out. Depending on year selection, some good companies are fairly valued.

Absolutely not. You may have an opinion, and it may be right sometimes, but for the most part even the most seasoned among us are not able to pick tops and bottoms of the markets with any reliability. Here is a realistic scenario. You stop contributing, the market takes a big dump in the middle of the month, but then shows surprising rebound strength and goes on to new highs, all within the month. How could you possibly play that in a 401k ?

Are you a fortune teller? Well neither am I.

How you invest in your 401K is determined by

your age and risk tolerance and not what you

think the stock market will do.

Some experts think the Dow will hit 100,000 in

    about 30 years.

the money payd to a 401k is now an advantage for your earnings probably you pay now less taxes then when the specific amount is not declined on the earnings now

understand the product and also read the leaflets of the funds from which you are allowed to choose from

have you checked the money payd by yourself from your salary and the part your boss is allowed to pay to this financial product

are your goals still the same as when you started

No, the market price is taken into account by dollar cost averaging. Of course, if you've selected your stocks and bonds yourself instead of investing in a suitable fund then you should rebalance your portfolio once a year, your birthday is a good time to do so.

you can change investments,,, not need to change the amount you're putting in.

Perhaps not adjust "How much" but how allocated.
