How can I appeal a violation report for an answer here?

My answer to a question was reported and I want to appeal but the link I was sent in my notification is apparently broken. How can I appeal?

Update:

Thank you, Janet. My answer isn't a violation (I'm very careful about following rules) and I really appreciate the information on the alternate way to appeal my violation report.

Benjamin -- what are you talking about?

Everyone -- I don't know who decided to "thumbs down" people but it wasn't me. I appreciate all the answers (except maybe Benjamin's because it doesn't seem to relate to my question in the slightest.)

First, be absolutely positive what you're appealing isn't a violation. Keep in mind that an answer (or question) doesn't have to be offensive in any way for it to be a violation. One of the most common violations for answers is not answering the question. For instance, you may answer by nicely suggesting that the asker would have better luck if they posted their question in a more appropriate category. If you didn't also answer the question that they asked, that would be a violation. Or if you nicely provide an opinion of someone's question instead of answering it, that would be a violation. If you answered anything like "idk" or I don't know", or "I have the same problem", those answers would be violations.

To appeal when the link doesn't work (which is happening a lot these days), use this form:

You select what you want to do from the drop down menu for each field.
