second parrot for company and,,?
My beloved Kookoo (my original Amazon Orange wing) seems to be getting less affectionate! He doesn't preen my hair and hang out like he used to, I understand this and that's okay because he still friendly and steps up and is gentle, but I have been told he will get mean because I have another parrot. They get along somewhat, the new guy loves Kookoo, and Kookoo tolerates him, the poor little guy (Pedro) the new guy was abused and all alone in a basement for the first 15 years of his life !it does my heart good to see this little guy so happy but I don't want to lose my friend! What do you think? I am hoping my pet will not get "mean" as I have been warned! Thank you

He will not get mean. The only reason he is less affectianite is because he is bonding more with pedro than he is with you.

Just make sure you train both of them and they'll both be nice; http://www.birdtricks.com/miracles, in that course with the link there is the same situation between an amazon and a macaw that will help you work through your situation.
