Supplementary angles mean they add together to be 180 degrees, complementary angles mean they add together to be 90 degrees.
So for example, if m> a is 45 degrees and you had to find the supplement, it would be 135 degrees. If you had to find the complement, it would be 55.
Good luck (:

Complementary angles add up to 90 degrees. Supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees.
To remember which is which, C = Corner. S = Straight.
1. I presume that means that angle a measures 10 degrees. So the complementary angle is 80 and the supplementary angle is 170.
5. Referring to the diagram, angle LMP is a right angle (it's marked as such). So is angle MPQ, because MPL = 50, LPQ = 40, and 40 + 50 = 90
6. MPL and LPQ, as in question 5.
7. MPL and MLP
9. Congruent angles have the same measure
a. AXB and DXB (both are 90 degrees
b. AXC and DXC (supplementary because they add to 180 degrees, but not congruent)
c. BXC and CXD (You know they have to add up to 90 degrees, because AXB is a right angle (90), and AXD is a straight line (180)
d. AXD
Hope that helps.
