Rumor has it BillGates will stop all fixes for Win.7-8 ?

K, So I hear, on April 8 th 2014 ? All patches, fixes, security updates will be stopped for Windows 7 & 8 which will leave the systems vulnerable to attack.

Is this so ?

So what the heck am I supposed to buy now ?

(like I have the money)

P.S. I'm not a techie, but do fairly well with new programs.

    You've misunderstood what is happening.

On April 8, 2014, Windows XP will no longer be updated, patched or supported. Windows XP has been out for 13 years and was replaced by newer operating systems 7 years ago.

Microsoft will continue to support, update and patch Windows Vista, 7 and 8.

Despite this fact, and the heavy push to warn people, something like 30% of Windows computers are still running Windows XP.

Don't worry! Windows 7 & 8 are going to be fine. However windows XP is the one loosing all the patches if you have Windows XP you can still use it but it is highly recommend that you have a antivirus installed such as avast or Microsoft security essentials.

I agree with Mike G. Bill Gates hasn't been CEO at Microsoft for years.
