I have an old sony dvd recorder model RDR GX3 the laser system will not recognize disks?

sony say they do not make this spare part anymore,will any other make work on it,I want to keep it as I can edit any recording as newer models do not do this many thanks if anyone can help

    unplug it and clean the laser with a soft cloth. It might just have a hair or dust on it.

    Even if Sony still made parts for that system, it would cost you more to repair it than to buy a new DVD recorder.

    Hello if u really want the same one buy a used one off ebay just put your model number in ebay search bar its that easy good luck!
