I am buying a lot next to mine, but the owners of the lot live in London, how do I get the deed notarized?

Will a UK notarization of their signature of the deed work, or do they have to go to the US embassy to get a US notarization done on the deed?

I am asking generally for California and Nevada, in case it comes up in the future. The current property I want is in California.

Use a large title company, like Fidelity National Title or First American Title. They have offices in London. They will have the seller that lives in London come into the subsidiary office and notarize the deed.

If he can't get a notary at the embassy, he gets an Apostille.
