kicker amp overheating?
i just bought a 600 watt 4 channel kicker amplifier hooked up to 6/9 kicker speakers and 6 1/2 kicker speakers no subs. the amp is not mounted due to it being on top of the gas tank. driving home tonight it overheated twice and was hot as could be. is there a way to solve this problem? on another note if anyone knows if a 2002 Camaro alternator can handle two batteries please let me know because my sound system is now too powerful for one battery almost. v6 engine not v8. Thank You.
I just bought the amp tonight best buy set it all up and I have it going through a 4 gage set up is my wiring a problem?

A quality amp should (almost) never overheat simply running 4 speakers.
Even a dirt cheap amp can generally do that without any difficulty.
Installation problem or defective amp. BB should have no problem making it right.

sounds like your amp might be bad or you have something set wrong on your amp or headunit. It shouldent have a problem.
Take it to a audio shop. If its a legit shop they should help you for free.

the most common cause of amplifier overheating is a bad power or ground connection. or a power wire that is too small.
