I used to be able to send emails to a list I created, but not I cannot, anyone know why?

I created a list of friends who enjoy similar stories as me. I used to be able to send emails by selecting this list instead of each individual. The list is still in my contacts, but Yahoo! Mail no longer allows me to select it when creating an email. Can you help?

Update:

Molly, I'm an IT person, of course I tried that. It does not work.

    Type the name of the list into the BCC box

    I don't like using Yahoo email because they charge for anything other than the most basic use. I'd get a different email - maybe through gmail or through your own ISP and then use it with Outlook.
