Isn't God really just Nature?

Okay a few impressionable people are trying to claim natural phenomena as evidence of a sky daddy, but shouldn't you all just accept everything as a natural process, occurring through time, without the need to assign ownership to a mythological being in a book?

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension

Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.

I think it's very sad that if someone does not have faith they would want others to agree with them!

How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation. The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.

We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.

The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, GOD unlike the universe, had no beginning, so he doesn’t need a cause. Einstein’s theory of general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Since GOD is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created..@

Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..

You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him

Isn't God really just a real person?

The abstract concept of Nature has no intelligence that was required to create things. For instance, the physical laws of nature—upon which humans rely for their research—are all of God’s making and could never be originated from an impersonal force. Another example: beauty, taste, smell, pleasure, sensations, conscience, etc... could an impersonal and abstract entity such as Nature produce such things without planning?

To be really honest, viewing God as just Nature does not sound reasonable to me.

It is called pantheism, and is often the preferred position of people educated enough to understand that science supports a naturalistic explanation of the universe, but who want to hold onto a concept of God.

For myself, I view this as making God irrelevant. If you believe God is just nature, then a universe with God is identical to a universe without God. God doesn't answer prayers, doesn't interceded in our lives, didn't intelligently create the universe. So, why bother? If you are going to believe in God (which I don't), you may as well believe in a God that actually listens to you.

No, much, much more than that. God is All That Is.

“God is not a being or an entity. God is the great positive force, the collective positive force of all that is. To call god an entity and especially to personify god is to limit the concept.” God is the Universal Consciousness, the Intelligent Infinity, the One Source, the Prime Creator. EVERYTHING IS GOD. God is All There Is. We are all part of god. All the universes combined are part of god.

We souls are a single unit of consciousness that stems from the Creator’s consciousness. This is known as “Infinite Consciousness.” All units of consciousness are interconnected to all other types of consciousness. Everything that exists is called the “Creator” (also known as the Source). Infinite Consciousness is the universal energy that exists everywhere or “All that is.”

It's funny. A lot of Christians I know believe that their god is outside of nature since he created nature. Yet, they think that homosexuality is unnatural. If your god is outside of nature, what does that make him?

When you come up with some empirical evidence for that natural phenomena let us know. Until then I am going to stick with that which can be supported with empirical evidence. Thanks for asking.

If you refer to God as a sky daddy, the chances are small you believe in God.

A belief in God requires faith, not sarcasm. Either you have it or you don't.

    You don't.
