Need ideas to keep Jack russell busy during the long winter.?

Have a Jack who does not like the cold. Goes out only to potty then comes right back in even with her coat on. I play tug with her and my other dog but can't last forever and she never wants to stop. I throw her ball down the hall over and over but once again can't keep it up. She only plays with my other dog for a little while because the other one quits really quickly. She gets her walk twice a day but can't stay out very long because we've already had a lot of temps only in the teens and have had snow already also. Any ideas of ways to keep her occupied? She's already looking and acting like she's just not happy. Any ideas would be welcome.

You could try puzzle toys. Instead of feeding her usual ration in a bowl, you put it in the puzzle toy and she has to spend most of the day rolling the thing around to get one kibble at a time. Don't use treats or you'll make her fat.

Laser toys. Some dogs like them, others don't. So, before you go buy the 25$ automatic one, buy the little 3$ laser pointer and see if she will chase the evil red dot. If so, the automatic one can be set on a table and will twitch around the red dog for as long as the battery lasts. May have to look in the cat toy section. Same for remote control toys or automatic motion sensitive toys. Gives her something to chase. They will probably be in the cat section.

Tug of war. Some are amused just by tying the rope to a sturdy piece of furniture and they can pull on it all they want. Some only like tug of war if they think they're fighting you for it so it may or may not entertain her.

Bones and sturdy chew toys. You can get a nylabone, or a good beef bone, or even a kong toy and load it with peanut butter, cheese, apples, cheerios, favorite treats, etc. Freezing it will make it last longer in the kong toy. But again, be careful of making her fat.
