If you created a universe, what would it be like and what would its purpose be?

if i made a universe it would be a disaster.

Let's work from the smaller levels first.

If I designed human beings, I don't put in a useless and dangerous internal organ such as the appendix. I don't put in age related ailments, such as bad backs coming from a spine system adapted from quadruped animals.

Then, I make a home planet where more than about 15% of the surface is congenial to human life. Plus, to encourage spaceflight, how about another Class M planet, rather than the tiny and dessicated Mars.

Then, I'd make sure that the life forms I create aren't vulnerable to radiation that comes out of the Sun that their home planet orbits. Never mind cosmic ray bursts that can sterilise life at distances of hundreds of light years from their sources.

Every aspect of the Universe screams that no competent creator made any of it. Only morons fail to grasp that reality.

Why would I bother? If I'm omniscient and omnipotent like God, why would I bother creating anything at all? What would be the need? I'm a perfect metaphysical being. I don't need to create anything. I am enough for myself.

Now if I was not a perfect anthropomorphic being, who knows that mess I might make. It might even look like this one, full of only enough order to facilitate a fascinating mosaic of chaos, like organisms making houses out of other living organism, organisms with no legs, two legs, and eight legs, foot fetishes, and disco music.

I am sure I could make it more fine tuned than it is if I was that powerful to create one.
