How much would a certified Pharmacy tech make in Ohio?

I'm thinking about getting into it, because my friend was working at a hospital and they offered her 11.00 p/h, and she had no training in pharmacy tech. How much would a certified pharmacy tech make?

    Ohio Pharmacy Technician Requirements

1.18 years of age or older

    2.High school diploma or equivalent

    3.Pass background check and fingerprinting

4.Comply with ONE of the following: PTCB or ICPT certification -OR- Pass Board approved exam given by employer

So looks like you don't have to have training in Ohio. The average salary for all pharmacy technicians was 28,400 in May of 2010. So $11/hr is pretty decent to start off. You may be able to get more if you have PTCB certification. This is because then the pharmacy wouldn't need to spend time and resources training you once you are hired. Just an FYI. Demand is expected to grow 32% through 2020 so there is a very high demand for pharmacy technicians right now. Good career choice!
