Transport science, how do wheels spin but not the car?

How do you connect the spinning parts on transportation (car/train) to the parts that dont spin?

How is it that the stagnant parts dont cause a lot of friction and cause it to stop spinning.

    Bearings and bushings, with lots of lubricant (oil or grease).

    Wheels are mounted on spindles with bearings inside and out.
