what is the best way to travel from amsterdam to berlin?

So me and my boyfriend have decided that instead of just a short trip to amsterdam we're going to do four days in amsterdam and 3 in berlin. We're fine with amsterdam, we've been there a few times and we know the ropes, but we wanna go directly from amsterdam to berlin. Has anyone done it before? Is it better to fly or get the train? How do we book it? If anyone has any advice please share :)

There are several flights to Berlin with KLM, Easyjet or Lufthansa. The flight takes 1.5 hour.

But I prefer to go with the train. The train however takes 6 hours but it brings you right in the citycenter. Also you dont even have to book in advantage. The international intercitytrain from Amsterdam to Berlin departs every two hours daily. The train is used by local passengers and commuters in both countries as domestic service. The trains are comfotable, has comfortable seats and there is a buffetwagon. If you want to make a reservation for a seat, just visit a counter at the station. But in my experience, the train is never fullpacked and there are always seats. And you can bring as much as luggage if you want.

Sure the plane is faster, but calculate the waitingtimes (1h advance at airport), limited luggage (Easyjet), transfer to airports, etc, etc. It saves two hours instead if going with the train. But the train is more relaxing.

you can buy a train ticket directly from the ticket machine in the hall of central station or go to the aiport and buy overthere direct your plane ticket

the cheapest way would be renting a car
