  • Anyone know what might be wrong with my dog?

He's a bull mastiff and he's old for one, about 11 and a half years old. He had swollen glands a few days ago and the vet said he'd been stung by a wasp. I thought this was odd because he doesn't actually have any marks on him. He has a thyroid problem and takes medicine for it, and he's had to stop taking it because of the medicine he was given for the 'wasp sting'. He has since went down on his hind legs. He's trying to get up and can't. This has been going on for nearly two days He's still drinking his water and eating like a horse. He seems OK and not in any pain, he's a little depressed but I think it's more a mixture of my mum being away and because he isn't getting his thyroid tablets - they contain an antidepressant. He just can't get up. It's like he has no strength in them. Any ideas?

  • Anyone who has had Nexplanon with adverse symtoms, when did they start?

I got it put in on Wednesday on day 9 of my cycle and I have been fine since then. People who have had constant bleeding, stomach pain etc, when did this start after it was inserted? I'm sort of hoping I've got away with it. I've heard of people starting to bleed within days even though they'd just finished their period. Also, when do I take my paper stitches off? I was too wound up about the big needle when my doctor told me lol

  • How much weight do I have to lose to get from size 12 to size 8?

I'm a 21 year old female. I'm 5 foot five inches, I weigh 10 stone 10 (I'm very muscular, I don't know why because I only do light exercise a couple of times a week) and I'm a small size twelve, particularly in the lower part of my body. I would like to get down to a size 8 before October, or December if it's unhealthy. I've already lost a couple of pounds from eating mainly fruit and vegetables. I'm already a vegetarian and have been since childhood, so the only real change is that I've cut out things like sweets and crisps, well, I don't eat as much of them as I used to lol. Any idea how much I'll need to lose to get down to size 8 so I can set myself a weight goal?

  • Did anyone find that noughties fashion altered their frame?

Weird question, I know, I'm a bit curious and I've been doing a survey on my friends, older and younger, and am beginning to see a pattern emerge. Although I'm slim I seem to have a weird shape around my hips, like my skeleton is slightly disfigured.

A lot of my friends around my age seem to have the same issue. Older ladies don't seem to and never seemed to.

After thinking about this for a long time I thought about low cut skinny jeans about six/seven years ago, while we were all in our early teens and still growing. We all squeezed in to them day after day, about a size too small, for several years, as many girls our age did.

Does anyone else have this strange shape in their hips, like it's constantly nipped in by something, no matter how slim you are? Did you wear skinny jeans this way?

  • Was anybody else a child prodigy who became a normal adult?

When I was a child I was considered to be a prodigy, because I could read a lot of books alone by the age of 4 with very little help and I could write a lot too. I also had an unusually good memory. It wasn't that sort of thing where my parents just thought I was clever either, my school noticed it as well. A lot of my friends who are extremely clever now, training to be doctors and such, were just normal - even in some cases a little bit below average - as kids, and while I am clever I'm more average. I think it declined a lot as i got in to my teenage years. Did this happen to anyone else? Is there a reason for it? I was talking to my friends the other day about this.

  • Is there a scientific explanation for this?

Recently I've started to make weird things happen. I keep thinking I would like stuff to happen, really specific things, and then they do, especially if I stare at the person or thing and think about it. I don't do this on purpose, I am quite thoughtful and have a habit of staring lol. I've also started to think things people are going to say before they say it and guess peoples names before they tell me. I remember doing this for a while as a child as well. It only happens when I don't want it to and goes away if I focus on it too much. Is there a scientific explanation for this? I'm 21 and don't really believe in ghosts and psychics and things.

  • Fear of operations (and hospitals), how to overcome this?

I may have something called a pheochromocytoma, after genetic testing has come back positive. I have a terrible fear of several things that are kinda stupid for a 21 year old to have, which are the dark, being alone at night (or sleeping near people I don't know, hostels and camp sites have the same effect on me), and hospitals. If I have the tumour I'll be in hospital being monitored on medication for a week or so before I have my op, then another two nights. I'm terrified of this. It doesn't help that I'll be away from work for a week, which kind of keeps me sane a lot of the time. Will I get my own room on the NHS? I'm quite young to be on the kidney/urology ward, so I think they might cut me a bit of slack, but I don't know. I hate hospitals so much. I'm so scared :( Has anyone else ever overcame this, what helped??

  • I have a lump in my neck?

This is kinda weird, but I'm pretty drunk and I was sort of running my hands around my neck while I was having a smoke, and when I got to the back of my neck I could feel an uneven shaped, hardish lump under my skin. It isn't warm or stingy, and after a quick awkward inspection with two mirrors I've also found it's colourless. It feels pretty deep and it doesn't move when I try to push it about. It's kinda big through and it seems to have appeared out of nowhere, although I'm not really one to poke around my neck normally so it could have been there a while. It only starts to hurt if I apply loads of pressure to it, and even then it only really hurts the same as other parts of me if I do this. Any ideas guys? I'm 21 and otherwise healthy-ish.

  • Should I ask my boyfriend to go to Edinburgh with me?

I'm reasonably well off (I have one of those jobs where I can make a lot of money and still be on yahoo answers at half 3 in the morning on a sunday, HATE ME!!! lol) and i want us to go on a city break to Edinburgh in April to see the sights. I'm willing to pay for us both, however, I want to meet up with my best friend who went to Napier University and never came home home when I'm there. He doesn't like that idea cos she's 'slutty' and 'annoying' and I can't be assed trying to convince him otherwise cos he's so stubborn and it has exhausted me before trying to convince him to go to parties a MILE AWAY. Should I go alone? It's just...I really want him there, I don't feel safe without him and we have lots of fun despite his faults.

  • How do you make friends when you're an adult?

I am super lonely. I really hate admitting that but I am. I used to be really popular but I started working really young and then all my friends went off and did stuff at uni, and I was ill for a while and became a bit of a recluse, and now I want to get out and have fun they're all pretty much ignoring me. I don't blame them though, they've moved on and have their own lives and I wish them well and thanks for the memories etc.

I just dunno how to start from scratch at 21. I have my boyfriend and our sort of shared group of friends, but they're more his friends.

I work, but I work far from home and although I get on with people there I often miss out on the fun because I can't hang around after work.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm getting really down.

  • What is going on with my piercing?

OK, so I got an industrial piercing in September.

Look, I know a bit about piercings, and if you're making guesses or just wanna say something like 'go see a doctor!' please look away now and go answer another question for your two points. Don't waste my time or insult me with your stupidity. For all serious answers from people who know what they're talking about, I'll be very grateful.

OK, so I know what an infection is like as well, and this isn't an infection. Definitely not. So no 'Maybe it's infected'.

Even though it's been over three months it's bled regularly from I got it done. As well as that the skin for about six millimetres around the piercing itself seems to be acting up. It's going scabby and weird. there is no redness and no more pain than I would expect from a relatively new piercing, and I've been cleaning it regularly with salt water (which is OK to do, fact) and antiseptic lotion (Rule one of how to clean a piercing). I know both these things can irritate my skin, but this has never happened with another piercing and continues not to.

Could this be a sign it's rejecting or something? Do I need to take it out?

  • Could I have polycystic ovary syndrome?

OK, so I'm not really long past puberty, I'm only 21, but in the last couple of years I've had a couple of problems with different things and I'm not sure about whether to see my doctor or not.

I've been getting a bit of acne, not little spots all over my face, just big ones, normally on my neck and chin, painful ones that don't form a head and just leak oily stuff. I tend to get these coming up to my period and this didn't happen when I was in my teens. I shower and wash my face every day and I don't wear make up very often.

I've heard a lot of women get hairier with PCOS and this hasn't happened to me. I've always have quite dark eyebrows and stuff though and I've had to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed since I was 12.

This is more recent, and I hate to be a bit graphic, but suddenly it's like my periods want to kill me. I had one a couple of months ago that was a couple of weeks late and just came very strong and suddenly and painfully and buggered up my life for a few days. They've all been a bit irregular for me, normally 30 days on the dot but now ranging between 25 and 35 days, and they're all different in heaviness, painfulness etc.

I've also had dull pains in my lower stomach, particularly in my hips, between periods for a few months now and some spotting in between my periods, normally when I'm getting these pains.

I don't want people making guesses or googling or just saying 'see your doctor'. I want people who have or know people with this condition to tell me if this is what it sounds like. Thanks.

  • what is the best way to travel from amsterdam to berlin?

So me and my boyfriend have decided that instead of just a short trip to amsterdam we're going to do four days in amsterdam and 3 in berlin. We're fine with amsterdam, we've been there a few times and we know the ropes, but we wanna go directly from amsterdam to berlin. Has anyone done it before? Is it better to fly or get the train? How do we book it? If anyone has any advice please share :)

  • My boyfriend keeps setting off alarms, why could this be?

My boyfriend (who I've been going out with for five years and I know he isn't a shoplifter lol) keeps setting off the security alarms in every shop we go in to or out of. It is starting to get really embarrassing and it's got to the point where are just expecting it to happen now. It only happens to him and it's happening even with different clothes, shoes, and he hasn't got any piercings or anything. It's just started in the last couple of weeks and nothing has changed. It's so weird.

Is there any reason for this?

  • In the video for Stay Another Day by East 17...?

There are these clouds floating round throughout the video, the one where they're all standing in front of the black background with the snow and stuff, and on closer inspection me and a couple of other people noticed a ribcage, a pelvis and part of a skull among other things. Kinda weird. I've also noticed this christmas I've seen the same video with them noticeably edited out a few times. Does anyone know anything about this, or can anyone else see them or have you ever noticed them before reading this?

  • Should I go somewhere else?

I really like my job, but I'm kind of at the bottom and there's a lot of room for promotion above me. However, I'm good at what I do and I sort of feel like I'm stuck there because of that. Like they want to keep me where I am, but I'd really like to move up the ranks a bit. I see it happen to people who aren't as good at the job and it annoys me. I sometimes feel like just being crap so they try to put me in to another department sometimes, but because I'm good I have to always try to be good, because they notice if I'm not.

Should I look in to going somewhere else?
