What is going on with my piercing?

OK, so I got an industrial piercing in September.

Look, I know a bit about piercings, and if you're making guesses or just wanna say something like 'go see a doctor!' please look away now and go answer another question for your two points. Don't waste my time or insult me with your stupidity. For all serious answers from people who know what they're talking about, I'll be very grateful.

OK, so I know what an infection is like as well, and this isn't an infection. Definitely not. So no 'Maybe it's infected'.

Even though it's been over three months it's bled regularly from I got it done. As well as that the skin for about six millimetres around the piercing itself seems to be acting up. It's going scabby and weird. there is no redness and no more pain than I would expect from a relatively new piercing, and I've been cleaning it regularly with salt water (which is OK to do, fact) and antiseptic lotion (Rule one of how to clean a piercing). I know both these things can irritate my skin, but this has never happened with another piercing and continues not to.

Could this be a sign it's rejecting or something? Do I need to take it out?

You're right, it doesn't sound like infection but it also doesn't sound quite normal.

Your best bet may be to call your piercer. They may ask you to pop in to see them so they can check it out.

Keep up the cleaning, better safe than sorry and all that.

Personally i'd suspect you're allergic to something in the jewelry but most piercers start out with hypoallergenic bars for exactly this reason.

It could also be that it was slightly unevenly placed and is simply working it's way into a "normal" position, have you seen people who have work wire post earrings for years? Their holes are stretched downwards into a little slit, that's from the weight of the earring, your jewelry may be doing similar due to the industrial going through multiple holes, again, ask your piercer, they'll know if it's normal movement or a potential rejection.

If it is rejecting, your piercer may be bale to save the piercing if it's dealt with in time.
