I think the problem may be with the way you are "preaching" to them? You can't condemn everyone just because they don't believe what you do - that alone is very un-Jesuslike. (is there such a word :))

You don't win a person over by telling them what they are doing wrong all at once, you have to give good points as well as highlighting the bad.

Even Jesus saw good in the bad people in his day - he noted they were misguided and/or taught by the wrong people.

When you want to wake someone from a deep sleep you will get a better reception by trickling water on them rather than drowning them.

heres something to think about, crack addicts believe they are right about alot of things, like purple dragons eating their family, but they are wrong

for once just consider the fact that you may be incorrect and go about finding out whether your beliefs are true

the only thing we know is correct is science, using the right calculations you can get the same results repeatedly, this is the only way to find out if something is true

your using a computer right now which has been developed by science so dont think for one second that the scientific process is incorrect, you are literally using it right now

now apply that to your religious views, where are the measurements, where are the repeated experiments, are you just going to go on gut feeling? the same gut feeling that drug addicts have for their hallucinations? that is completely idiotic

Persons always deserve respect unless they show themselves unworthy.

Ideas never deserve respect unless shown to be true.

Atheists condemn religious ideas. Show me the evidence your scripture is any more accurate than the Qur'an, the Vedas, or any other.

Religious people condemn atheists. (Condemning "sin," an offence against [your particular] god means you believe the atheist is worthy of the punishment for non-belief.)

Thus, if your mother is an atheist, she deserves to burn forever. Or your sister. Or your child. Or your aunt. They are undeserving sinners and deserve to burn in hell. That is the difference.

Because your faith defines this as "love."

Jesus didn't walk up to the adulterous woman and throw a stone at her. Her gave her grace. You will never help anyone find God for as long as you condemn their actions. Show them the light. "But what is the difference between a good Christian and a good person?" Just let God deal with that. :)

Get off the persecution kick. You people are the ones condemning everyone who doesn't agree with you. The rest of us simply want the right to live our lives undisturbed.

It's because it still counts as spreading hate. Hate is generally condemned in today's society. Especially if the only reason for that hate is a book written 2000 years ago by primitive sand-men.
