It's better than buying them from a pet shop as if people are selling, they usually have the parents available to view. Only buy if you can see at least one, if not both of the parents. You need to be able to see what the baby could turn out like. If the parent is sick then don't buy the baby. You also get to view what you are buying in person, so you can decide if the pet is right for you.
The best place to buy from is the AWL or RSPCA, help out an abandoned animal in need this Christmas, save a life.
