What do you think about "the map is not the territory"?

In India we say - Kabja saccha, dawa jhootha i.e. occupation is reality and claims are falsity.

Not on paper, but on ground it is very much a territory, people will fight to keep their boundaries intact.

I think many fail to recognize this expression. The difference is "knowing" verses "knowing about." Knowing about China is not the same as going there or what it means to be Chinese.

simple clues:

a map of the psyche is not the psyche itself;

an autobiography of a life is not the life experience itself.

the bible itself is not the psychic, gnostic, or mystic experiences of living knowledge it contains.
