Is my 2012 Jaguar ruined?

was driving from Miami up to Panama City Beach to see family and stuff when I stopped for gas just outside of Miami. I pulled up to the pump and rolled down my guagwindow to push the call for attendant button. I then waited for the attendant to arrive, and ran my credit card and stuff on the pump, and said, "filler up", but the attendant didnt seem too happy with me. I had them check the oil and fluids and such, and they said I was low on fluid in the transmission. I said I dont ever open the hood of my car, (I'm a model not any kind of mechanic or engineer, and dont want to damage the engine by messng with it), hence I dont ever check fluids. I asked them to add fluid, and they said that my car took K9P Transmission Fluid. He said he could charge it to my credit card, and he then brought out 2 clear bottles full of transparent cloudy yellow liquid, and poured it into my car. I then pulled out and headed out across highway 41 and towards the gulf coast of florida.

I then began to notice the automatic transmission making strange noises and slipping gears about a half hour down the road, and then the car lost some of its oomph, and it had t be floored just to keep going 30 MPH. The big guage next to the speedometer then was running way higher than normal (whatever that means), and the little guage with the C and the H soon rose to the top H.

Eventually in the middle of the everglades the car just stalled out, and the engine wouldnt start, and spouted off all sorts of steam. I let it cool and started it back up and continued driving, and had several more stall outs, and eventually the car sopped putting off steam, but still stalled out. I thought I would limp the car to the gulf coast where I could get it checked, but the engine then started making all sorts of strange squeeking and rubbing and clanking sounds, and then suddenly BANG, a deafening sound rocked the car, and I lost all horsepower and then the engine stopped, and I coasted to a halt on the roadside in the middle of the everglades. THe car spouted off all sorts of smoke, and I looked under the hood and saw that there was a huge gaping hole in the engine, and some sort of weird black goop all over the place smoldering, and the wires insulation was slightly melted.

I called a tow company to get an estimate, and they said it would cost $200 to tow, and that seemed steep. I would prefer to just keep limping my car to the gulfcoast to a repair garage so I could get a cheap fix to hold me until I can afford more expensive repairs, as the tow company said repairs would cost at least $6,000. Should I just call for a friend to rescue me, and leave the car on the roadside until the big payday in spring fashion season. Its not like I cant afford the repair, I make about $175,000 per year and can afford a JAG and a Land Rover. but i dont want to spend much before my bigger paydays to help conserve my savings.

Could the station have put in the wrong fluid , or what could have caused the problems and what would be the cheapest option for now, should I just get back to miami and take the land rover to panama city beach. What happened and what could I do?

If this story is true and I'm guessing it's not because you ask the same questions over and over again in different sections.

"I called a tow company to get an estimate, and they said it would cost $200 to tow, and that seemed steep"

It's not, $200 is pretty reasonable

" I could get a cheap fix to hold me until I can afford more expensive repairs, "

There are not cheap fixes with Jaguars, but a great way to turn a cheap fix into an expensive repair is too keep going once there's a problem.

"Should I just call for a friend to rescue me, and leave the car on the roadside until the big payday in spring fashion season."

It won't be there went you return in a few months. It will be towed away and kept in a storage lot where you will be paying around $20-$40 for every day they keep it there. You won't get the car back until you pay for the tow and storage fees.

"Its not like I cant afford the repair, I make about $175,000 per year "

Then I don't see what the problem is

"but i dont want to spend much before my bigger paydays to help conserve my savings. "

    Too bad

"Could the station have put in the wrong fluid "

    Yes

"what could have caused the problems "

Your staggering level of ignorance and common sense.

buy american, if you can afford a jag and a land rover pay the towing fee and have it towed to an authorized jaguar dealer, it will cost a small fortune to be fixed but it will most likely get a life time warranty on the repairs, stop with the short cuts it will only cost you more in the long run. THAT STATION EFED YOU, if you are in doubt do not let a gas station put any thing other than gas in your car, your car can run on low fluids till you can have a jaguar dealer mechanic look at it.

  • Bit long winded, but here's the deal, first off Jaguar is known in mechanic circles as 10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag, these vehicles are the worst of the worst and suited for idiots looking for prestige rather than performance or reliability, same would apply to that POS Land Rover you say you can afford, Now you rely on some nose picking inbred gas station attendant who makes minimum wage to tell you your fluids low. then the fact being you don't seem especially bright you let the moron poor some crap into your transmission and now wonder why your broke down on the side of the road, for all you know pig fornicator could have put 10 day old piss he kept in a moonshine jar into your transmission, most likely saving it for someone just like you.

I would say it is kaput. Buy a better car next time if you plan to drive it and not just look good in it. If you are really a model, there should have been a lot of people stopping to help you and you wouldn't have to pay $200 for a tow.
