  • What could be wrong with my 2012 Jaguar?

I was driving from Miami up to Panama City Beach to see family and stuff when I stopped for gas just outside of Miami. I pulled up to the pump and rolled down my window to push the call for attendant button. I then waited for the attendant to arrive, and ran my credit card and stuff on the pump, and said, "filler up", but the attendant didnt seem too happy with me. I had them check the oil and fluids and such, and they said I was low on fluid in the transmission. I said I dont ever open the hood of my car, (I'm a model not any kind of mechanic or engineer, and dont want to damage the engine by messng with it), hence I dont ever check fluids, I usually take it in to service at the jag dealership but thats it. I asked them to add fluid, and they said that my car took K9P Transmission Fluid. He said he could charge it to my credit card, and he then brought out 2 clear bottles full of transparent cloudy yellow liquid, and poured it into my car transmission. and then added some brownish liquid from a bottle that said Mobile 1 on it. I then pulled out and headed out across highway 41 and towards the gulf coast of florida.

I then began to notice the automatic transmission making strange noises and slipping gears about a half hour down the road, and then the car lost some of its oomph, and it had to be floored just to keep going 30 MPH. The big guage next to the speedometer then was running way higher than normal (whatever that means, does that mean the car is working harder or something), and the little guage with the C and the H soon rose to the top H.

Eventually in the middle of the everglades the car just stalled out, and the engine wouldnt start, and spouted off all sorts of steam. I let it cool and started it back up and continued driving, and had several more stall outs, and eventually the car sopped putting off steam, but still stalled out. I thought I would limp the car to the gulf coast where I could get it checked, but the engine then started making all sorts of strange squeeking and rubbing and clanking sounds, and then suddenly BANG, a deafening sound rocked the car, and I lost all horsepower and then the engine stopped, and I coasted to a halt on the roadside in the middle of the everglades. THe car spouted off all sorts of smoke, and flames tore through the engine compartment. after the blaze died down, I looked under the hood and saw that there was a huge gaping hole in the engine, and some sort of weird black goop all over the place smoldering, and the wires insulation was just melted, and a lot of plastic was deformed.

AT THIS POINT I AM STRANDED ON A DESOLATE ROAD IN THE DARK, AND THE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING, so NO DISTRESS FLASHERS

I called a tow company to get an estimate, and they said it would cost $200 to tow, and that seemed steep. I would prefer to just keep limping my car to the gulfcoast to a repair garage so I could get a cheap fix to hold me until I can afford more expensive repairs, as the tow company said repairs would cost tens of thousands. Should I just call for a friend to rescue me, and leave the car on the roadside until the big payday in spring fashion season. Its not like I cant afford the repair, I make about $175,000 per year and can afford a JAG and a Land Rover. but i dont want to spend much before my bigger paydays to help conserve my savings.

People stopped and offered help, and said they could help me call a scrap yard, and that the car was a "total loss", someone even said that dumb models shouldnt be driving expensive cars if they dont know how to take car of them

Could the station have put in the wrong fluid , or what could have caused the problems and what would be the cheapest option for now, should I just get back to miami and take the land rover to panama city beach. What happened and what could I do?, should i look up scrap yards on my phone, i am clueless how to fix the car, what should I do?

  • How screwed up is my car?

BTW Car is a 2011 Jaguar XF

I was driving on a trip from my home town of Miami, FL up to Panama City Beach to go see family and friends there, and on highway 41, in the middle of the everglades my car started making a loud POP POP POP POP sound. The automatic transmission started shifting wildly, and then the car became frozen in a state where i had to have the gas pedal floored just to go 45 miles per hour, and the big guage next to the speedometer went way higher than it normally does. I had no choice to continue driving as I dont ever do my own car maintainance, I have it checked at the shop every few months or so and they do all that servicing. I didnt know how to fix it, and I kept driving, but my fuel economy went way down and i was using way more gas than i normally would.

The engine then died was spouting off all sorts of steam, and it struggled to start when I turned the key, I just gave it a while to cool off and continued driving. I went through a few of these incidents where the engine stalled out, presumably from heat, but i dont know exactly what caused the problem. The car then started spewing massive ammounts of a blueish white/grey smoke from the tailpipe such that it clouded my rear view. After a couple more overheats I was getting closer to the gulf coast of florida and possible repair facilities, when the engine started making all sorts of squeeking and rubbing noises, and after a few miles of that, I heard a loud BANG, and the engine gave out. Seconds later all sorts of smoke started pouring out of the hood and I coasted to a stop and got away from the car.

A few minutes later the smoke stopped coming out, and I opened my hood and saw that there was oil mixed with some sort of green stuff spewed all over under the hood and a gaping hole in the back of the engine with a bunch of melted wires an hoses. I am wondering how to fix the car, I was planning to be in Panama City by morning, and now I am stranded in the middle of nowhere at night. How would I fix the engine cheaply.

Should I just wait until spring fashion season when I'll have more money, and not comprimize my savings, which I need for living, im a male model, i have a high but unpredicable and variable income. Should I just rely on the land rover while I wait till the bigger pay days, and leave the jag on the roadside, as it would cost over $400 to get it towed back to Miami. or could i limp a bit further to the gulf coast where there might be a safer place than spending the night in the middle of nowhere?

What should I do about the car, and how much would it cost to fix?

  • what happens to balloons when they go to the great beyond?

just picked up a beautiful $125.00 ornate seashell necklace for my girlfriend last friday. I then also picked up about ten helium mylar graduation balloons because a bunch of friends were graduating on friday night. I ended up tying the balloons to the necklace, so I didn't lose hold of them, awfully hard to keep track of ten balloons, but I tripped outside the gift shop and the lost hold of the necklace. The necklace floated away with the balloons carrying away $125.00 i had spent on the necklace, and then another $30.00 i had spent on balloons and helium.

I quickly ran back into the gift shop and asked the florist, since they sell balloons, "where do balloons go, mine got away?" she said, "They go to balloon heaven, im sure an angel will love that beautiful necklace", I then left and drove off, chasing those balloons for about five miles into the countryside seeing if they might happen to come back down cause some eagle or something pecked at them and popped them, but eventually gave up and when't home when I couldn't find the balloons.

Ive been thinking for a few days, and decided that they have probably reached their destination by now I would start checking around and possibly trying to recover them

I am now wondering where balloons end up when they fly away, should I call NASA to see if they could send someone up into space or to the moon or to "balloon heaven" to recover the balloons from wherever, as when I called the civil air patrol earlier today, they said that they had no means of recovering the balloons and LAUGHED AT ME as they said that the balloons in balloon heaven were "beyond their reach" and just HUNG UP on me.

I then tried calling the FAA, and asked them and they chuckled and said ," Your balloons are in heaven by now, its time you bought another bracelet for your grlfriend, balloons really arent our concern either unless they are carrying people with them or large enough to endanger aviation".

I am almost out of options, and I am totally angry about the fact that I lost my expensive necklace, and since the gift shop is totally clueless, the only choice is to find those balloons, what are my options and where do balloons end up, and should I just give up and buy another bracelet? I've called other balloon places, and they say they dont know where the balloons went.

They have been gone for a few days, and are hopefully now at their final destination, wherever the final destination of balloons is, space, moon, balloonia or balloon heaven what is the chance of successfully finding the bracelet, what should I do?
