How can Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill (vol 1) tell how many years have past by looking at her hands?
I know it probably has something to do with the life lines but I don't know anything about palm reading.

I should've stated that I would like the answer to be in Lament's terms. I don't understand (completely) the 2 answers I was given...I looked up "deductive skill" but still don't get what she sees when she looks at her hands, or I should say what that proves.

Yes, it is a reference to palmistry and a lot of poetic license is taking place. The Life Line is supposed to represent your level of health and vitality, not your age.

That was movie bs. You are supposed to realize that she is a great warrior with great deductive skills.
